Medical Peel vs. Deep Hydration: What's the Difference?
Peels renew the surface; deep hydration replenishes moisture at deeper layers. They don't compete — they complement.
Although both improve skin, medical peels and deep hydration treatments address different problems and have very different mechanisms.
Medical peel: renewal from the surface
A peel uses acids to trigger cellular renewal, exfoliate superficial layers, and improve texture, pigmentation, and radiance. There's a visible recovery phase, and the final result appears once the new skin has fully formed.
Deep hydration: nourishment from within
Deep hydration treatments (like PRP or hydrating mesotherapy) deliver moisture, nutrients, and active factors to deeper skin layers. No flaking or surface renewal occurs. The improvement shows as brightness, smoothness, and elasticity.
When to choose one over the other
- Dark spots, uneven texture, enlarged pores, sun damage: medical peel.
- Dehydrated, dull skin without significant surface damage: deep hydration.
Can they be combined?
Yes, in the right sequence. Typically the peel comes first, and hydration treatments are added in subsequent sessions. You can read more on our medical peel and facial PRP pages.
